Build A Better Infoproduct for 2008

Are you beginning to think about the business goals you want to set for your business next year? I know that I am. And one thing I have been considering is the fact I need to always have products to sell to my clients - and not just any product - but much better ones than a lot of the fluff that has notoriously been for sale.
When I think about designing a new product, I have to think about what my clients want first and then the quality of the product I want to deliver second. Now - I have been guilty of taking forever to get a product out because I was so busy perfecting it, but actually I don’t feel bad about it any longer. Its more important to me to deliver a product that I myself would want to buy. When I buy a piece of crap on the web - I return it. That simple. When I buy something that is useful and was thoughtfully put together - I keep it.
So think about this when you are designing your next infoproduct for 2008:
1. How long is your product? Do you really need all the pages you have? Is it filled with fluff or does every chapter - every page - serve a purpose.
2. What is your product’s presentation? Is it electronically delivered? Is it a physical product? Is it a combination of both? I myself prefer a combo. Your customer will feel as if they are getting their money’s worth.
3. Are you presenting an old topic with a new spin? Or are you introducing something new to your audience? Its very important that you keep your products relevant and fresh, because a lot of the old information on your particular niche can probably be found for “free” via a few google searches.
4. Have you priced your product accordingly? And are you delivering what your price point calls for? *Tip - Want to raise your price point? Include audio or video with your infoproduct.
5. Have you been stuck on the development, production, or promotion of your infoproduct for weeks or even months? Ask yourself if your market really wants this product idea of yours, decide to interview other experts for your product to try and get the creative process going, or try the new Infoproduct Dashboard if you need an inexpensive solution to walk you through the entire process step by step.

Checked Your Site for Outdated Links Lately?

I have several websites and I am always in the midst of a new creative process. That’s my thing. But what can fall through the cracks are the little things (which are really huge!) such as making sure links to my articles, sites, special offers, products & services are all up to date and working properly.
Have you recently changed a payment processor? Affiliate software? Website hosts? Then you need to go double check the links back to these very important items.
- Make sure that all the payment and referral links back to your products and services are working properly. I recently switched a product’s processing from clickbank to paypal, and forgot to check all the links on my sales page for that product. Once I fixed them - I received an order about 2 hours later! Imagine the potential income I missed for that careless brain fart!
- Make sure that all the links you have out there to your websites are all correct and live. If recently changed your branding, and therefore switched urls etc. - just make sure that all traffic flows to your new page(s).
- It’s soooo important to really try to choose one affiliate software option and stick with it. Because if you switch - it is very hard to convince all your current affiliates to then go and fix all the links on their sites as well. BUT if you do - make sure to check your site’s affiliate sign-up page for dead links and to email your affiliate list about updating their links etc. If you need a little help with setting up your affiliate program the right way, try AffiliateDashboard.
- Sometimes you may need to check the links for the images on your site. Especially the little ones that you don’t pay much attention to and/or that are hosted on another server. Many of these sites go out of business or make changes of their own - and then you have question marks in there place. It’s always a good idea to optimize your image text titles and descriptions for times like these. Use your keywords.
Lastly, if you don’t have the time to do this - outsource it. And no it doesn’t have to be this intricate outsourcing plan to a someone in Bangladesh! You can use a student or babysitter - heck even my 8 year old can spot outdated links:) Just get it done.

Biggest Mistake Buzz Marketers Make

One of the biggest mistakes that buzz marketers (like yourself:) make is by not investing some time everyday in the marketing of their business. Plain and simple.
How do you expect to create a buzz around your new infoproduct, membership site, or kick-ass service if you have not spent the time in the trenches marketing your self, your business, and your “benefits”.
While I know that you absolutely love what you do - you need to do at least one thing a day that will help spread the word of mouth buzz (and referrals) that biz owners like us crave.
1. Post to your blog lately?
2. Have you written and published an article today?
3. Did you reach out to that person you met at the last event you attended?
4. Have you emailed your list lately?
5. Have you invested in a program or product to shorten your learning curve?
(Even the most seasoned marketers invest in continuing education)
Whatever it is - do something - EVERY DAY. It’s the only way that you are going to get the buzz going!
*My new Article Marketing Home Study System is going to be released soon. I must admit - it’s going to dramatically increase the size of your list and your traffic. It’s that good! Get on the list to be notified of it’s release in Beta, and of several chances to win a FREE copy!

Seth Godin Ranks 952 Web 2.0 Sites

There is a great advantage to harnessing the traffic power of Web 2.0 sites. The problem - is that there is a ton of them! More are popping up every minute - claiming to be the newest and hottest site out there that can drive floods of traffic to your website(s).
The truth is - is that we really had no way of knowing who was really driving traffic to our sites and who wasn’t. Most of us were listening to “word-of-mouth” marketing a.k.a. buzz to try and figure out who to use in our marketing plans.
Great “buzz” for all of those sites - but could be a waste of time for us. That’s why it’s so great that Seth Godin has collected and analyzed over 1000 web 2.0 sites and listed the 952 sites which rank high in traffic and popularity. Otherwise - worth the effort:)
