Solve the biggest problem by having trackbacks turned on and you'll know exactly where they are published. AMA is the most effective tool I've seen. In terms of duplicate content take the time to do a good job of spinning it. They won't bring in any traffic but they will give you a huge boost in the rankings because the IP diversity is massive. It's not published on their network, it's published on other people's networks. 1 article syndicated across AMA 100 times is better than 5 on ezine articles (same network). But I suggest spending your money and time finding 3rd party blogs where you can submit your content to directly.
