How To Add Cash Register Sound To Apple Mail

When I went to my first internet marketing conference, I was sitting quietly near people who were doing something I wasn’t yet — and that was making money! I watched how their faces lit up whenever they heard the cha-ching sounds of a cash register go off on their laptops. And I stared at them in awe and in a bit of envy. I wanted the sales and I wanted the sound!
Well - I figured out how to make the sales part happen but I never did figure out the whole sound thing until now. Why it took me this long, I don’t know. As a mac user, adding sounds etc. to my computer is a no-brainer. But it was just something else to do. But let me tell you this — if there is something to push you a little harder, to write that last article, to write that next blog post, to work on your next product launch — it is the BEAUTIFUL sound of the cash register going off when you have made a sale! So without further ado…this is how you set up a cash register alert sound on your mac.
1. Find a cash register sound that you like and one which is free. I found mine over at FindSounds.com I like this one because it combines the cha-ching sound with the rustling of bills. Sweet! http://www.hk-soft.net/mp3/Effects/Machines/register.mp3
It would be easier to find a file with an AIFF extension instead of a mp3 file — but we can convert the mp3 — so pick one you like.
2. Click on the link and on the alt/option button on your keyboard and save the sound to your desktop.
3. Open itunes and import the sound into your itunes library.
4. If you have selected an AIFF file, then you do not have to convert it and you can go ahead to step 9.
5. If you have selected a MP3 file, then you have to convert it. Which as you see I did…don’t worry it’s painless!
6. Go to iTUNES ==> PREFERENCES ==> ADVANCED ==> IMPORTING and make sure that you select Import Using: AIFF Encoder in the dropdown box.
7. Go back to itunes and select (or click on) the sound you imported. It should be in the library of itunes.
8. Now go to ADVANCED in itunes and select Convert Selection to AIFF. You will now see the new AIFF file in your library.
9. Drag your AIFF sound file onto your desktop.
10. Open a finder window and select your LIBRARY folder.
11. Open your library folder and then select and open your SOUNDS folder.
12. Click and Drag your AIFF sound file into the SOUNDS folder.
13. Open up SYSTEM PREFERENCES under the apple in the left hand corner.
14. Click on the SOUNDS icon.
15. You should see your new sound listed as a CUSTOM alert sound.
16. Open Apple Mail. Then open PREFERENCES in Apple Mail.
17. Click on RULES and then click on ADD RULE.
18. This is where you add the criteria for your rule such as paypal emails, or clickbank notification emails, etc. And then now you need to tell it what you want it to do when it sees this criteria.
19. Click on PLAY SOUND and then choose the sound on the drop down box you want to hear - your new cash register sound!
20. Save and now your done…When an email comes in that meets the criteria of a type of "sales" email - your cash register sound will play. And oh what a lovely sound it is!

Clickbank Offers Direct Deposit In United States

If you use Clickbank as a third party server for your digital products or you use them in your affiliate marketing, then you will be glad to hear that Clickbank FINALLY offers direct deposit for customers located in the United States. Good bye annoying checks.
The only hitch is that you have to have received 3 paper checks within a 90 day period. If you aren’t receiving a check every month from Clickbank, you should probably double check what you have set as your payment threshold. Make it too high - then you might receive checks every two months or so - and you won’t qualify for direct deposit. Remember that the payment threshold is as low as $10 at Clickbank.

Save Money On Apple Computer Products

I hear from a lot of frustrated PC moms who want to switch over to mac, but it’s not in their budgets. While I do not put a price on my peace of mind :-), others must. Which is why I thought I’d let you know about Apple’s education web store.
You can qualify for Apple’s education discount not only if you are a teacher, a student, but also if you are an official PTO officer over at your kid’s school. (That’s me!)
The discounts are on most Apple products including iPods for the kids:-) Another thing they tend to do is run promotions such as buy a mac and get an iPod of your choice for free.
The discounts have been significant enough that I have purchased several macs over the years and now my kids have a computer, and both my husband and I have desktops (for work) and laptops for the bedroom and traveling

Adding A Phone Line For Your Home Business

Have you taken a look and noticed how many of your competitors have a customer service phone number listed on their sites? Do you have a phone number listed for customer or client support on your site?
Think about how much it would add to your credibility if someone could call and talk to a human voice. Imagine the sales “objections” you would be able overcome by talking to someone immediately. Even having a phone number on your site period - is a credibility booster — even if customers never use it.
Of course these are some of the problems you may run into…
1. Your phone company charges you some astronomical amount for adding another line in the house
2. You look into one of these live-person type customer service companies - and again big bucks!
3. You use your cell phone for business, but forget while your out at the Gap with the kids to answer it professionally — and uh-oh it’s a potential client! Not a good look.
Well - the solution I have tried and boy do I wish I had a little stake in this company is a new invention called the MagicJack. Basically what it is - is a phone jack that you plug into the USB port of your computer, then plug in your land line phone, and you have phone service. Completely new phone number. Voice mail. Call waiting. Call forwarding. Free local and long distance calling (United States and Canada). Sound quality is great.
What I really like about it is that all you have to do is take the MagicJack with you when you travel, plug it into your laptop, and your phone travels with you. No dropped calls. No monthly bills and fees.
The inventor of MagicJack is offering a free year of service when you buy it for only 40 bucks. After the year, it is only 19.95 a year for unlimited local and long distance calling. Now that is a GREAT investment for you business and practically no cost. Learn more about this great little invention over at: MagicJack.com
Would You Read Your Favorite Blog On Kindle?

While I love gadgets. I tend to wait out the “first movement” of new gadget frenzy, and swoop in on the second movement when things get a little less expensive. For example, now I’m ready to buy the iphone. It’s faster and cheaper and comes out July 11th. Yea!
But I’m still waiting on the verdict of Amazon’s new portable reading device called a KINDLE. The things that sound great about a kindle are the fact that you can read the morning newspaper, a book, a blog, and other assorted documents on your kindle. And the information is delivered via “whispernet” which basically means wirelessly — but anywhere. You don’t need to be near a wifi hotspot to download your new book. Order it at Amazon, and it instantly downloads to your kindle. Cool huh?
I know what you’re thinking — but what about the feel of paper? The smell of your new book? Reading your favorite blog on a full color screen at home? Picking the newspaper up outside every morning and reading the comic pages (which seem to not be included in your kindle version of newspapers).
Well - you could kind of look at it as a very “Green” way of getting your information fix. Less paper — less trees — bigger forests
I don’t know, what do you think? Would you read your favorite blog (like this one:) on kindle?

Do You Have Great Affiliate Resource Tools?
May 11, 2008 by Lisa Angelettie

I must say - this is an area in which I am horribly lacking. I don’t have a kick-butt affiliate resource area for my affiliates — but I am so committed on working in that area because I really believe that building an army of affiliates is one of the best ways to create passive income and generate more web traffic to your site - hands down!
I just happen to be lucky that I have attracted some really good affiliates who were able to come up with their own great articles and blog posts to promote my sites. But imagine the possibilities if I made it REALLY easy for affiliates to promote my products and services.
As a part of my blog expansion in the next few weeks ahead, I am going to start writing reviews of new products and services that you may be interested in using for your business — so I recently just bought a newly released “Get Google Ads Free” product (created by a retired New York doctor) which I am going to review - but when I looked at his affiliate section I was amazed!
He has so many options for you to promote this product that I can’t imagine how he will not make thousands on it. Go take a look at the affiliate section over there if you want some ideas on what types of tools you need to develop in order to get your affiliates selling your stuff like hot cakes. I have already begun developing 3 different tools for my articology affiliates which were inspired from what I saw over in his affiliate section!
