Do Not Quote The Associated Press

One of the reasons why I teach my Articology article marketing system is to teach people how to write effective articles without having to resort to plagiarism. And this is the reason why… The Associated Press just put the word out that they are going to start charging people $2.50 per word for quoting their stories — even if you add a link to the original AP story.
Say WHAT!!! You heard me right.
Evidently this is in an effort to stop bloggers from basically swiping their stories and adding a link to them at the end (which no one will click since they already have the information). It’s basically theft. And they aren’t putting up with it anymore. Solution: Now I know that many of you get your ideas for blog content and articles from the AP wire. So basically you need to read the story once, don’t look at it again, and then re-write it in your own words using your own "voice". Avoid linking to them since you will be using your own words — but if you feel so inclined, you can add them as a (*source) for your articles and posts — just be darn sure that you haven’t written your story using their words.

Hey, if you live in the U.S., most of us have the day off of work and school in honor of all of the soldiers who have fought and died for the freedoms that we all enjoy.
If any of you have family in the armed services - I hope that they are safe and well. And I also hope that many of you are reading this on your laptop in the backyard with your families, with a piece of chicken in your hand!
1 Quick Way to Help Get Your Business Well Into 6-Figures

Here’s a great tip from someone I LOVE and trust to give me great information on how to make more in my business - Kendall SummerHawk (aka, the “Horse Whisperer” for business)
She walks her talk, and has created a high 6-figure business (she brought in OVER $564,000.00 last year alone!) doing what she loves.
Pretty impressive, wouldn’t you agree?
Anyway…here’s a great tip she just shared with me:
Ever noticed how much time it can take you to get anything (and everything!) done in your business? Well, that time is also costing you BIG TIME by distracting you from working on creating profitable offers, relationships and opportunities. One quick trick that can make a real difference to your bottom line is to cut the amount of time you give yourself for a project in half.
I know, sounds impossible, right? It’s not, and, even better, it will force you to look at HOW you are approaching a project. If you only have half the time to get it done you’re more likely to ask for support, reach out to new resources or not settle for delays or get stuck in perfectionism. Just imagine how many more leads and clients you could create if your marketing projects were done in half the time?
Want more business-building tips like this one? Then you’ll love Kendall’s FREE upcoming teleseminar call where she’ll share “My 6 BEST Marketing, Money and Soul Strategies I Used To Turn My Business Into a High 6-Figure Success (and How You Can Too So You’re Making The Money You Rightfully Deserve, Helping The People You’re Destined To Help)” (Best yet, the call is free!) Get Paid For TopSpots On Your Blog

I’ve been working really hard the last few days working on the launch of my new article marketing continuity site - Articology. I swore that I said that I was going to outsource the writing of my sales page, but of course once again - I thought I could handle it because my 3 bunnies were home this week. No school. But in the middle of writer’s block, I went cruising for content and saw something interesting on a blog that I really like: InternetMarketingSweetie.
It’s this idea of a virtual tipping jar where people can give you a monetary “thank you” for all of your great blog content:) Kinda cool huh? While this isn’t a really new idea, you have always been able to add that Amazon or Payal button begging for tips - but this site does it in a really cool Web 2.0 way. Not only do you get a tip, but their site (with a live link) gets listed as a “top spot” on your blog. Everybody wins!
Check it out over at scratchback.com, and if you like anything you’ve read over here — feel free to leave me a tip!

The Decision To Clarify My Brand
February 4, 2008 by Lisa Angelettie

I’ve been working with a coach lately - and we both felt really sure that I needed to tweak and clarify my brand. What I find in others (which I refused to admit myself) was that I was a little afraid of being narrow — and not including everyone. Isn’t that so typically girly:)
So look for me to make a few changes in the next few weeks to this blog, my newsletter, and the products and services I will be introducing over the next few months to support this “re-birth”. I look forward to the days ahead and I hope you’ll be with me:)

Get a 101 Link building Tips For Free

Although I slowed down in 2007, I have committed to ramping up my link building activities for 2008. I think that everyone should dedicate at least an hour to link building per week - because I saw tremendous growth in my business when I added new backlinks to my site.
Things have changed over the years. Of course now reciprocal links are a big no-no, and one-way backlinks are optimal. But that takes a little more work. Writing great content for other sites is the best way, and is what I teach my clients. But Brad Fallon has this cool new podcast report site called Freeline where he reports on a lot of free internet marketing and web 2.0 resources. One which he is featuring now is a 101 Link building Tips resource. Take a look - it’s quick bits of info. Not one of those godforsaken long 45 minute camtasia presentations:)!
