When To Write Your Halloween Articles

August 18, 2011 By Lisa Angelettie Leave a Comment

When To Write Your Halloween Articles For Optimal Search Engine Placement

Halloween is the BEST holiday for one of my favorite income streams – affiliate article marketing. While I do not spend a huge amount of time on affiliate article marketing, I do like to do some strategic affiliate article marketing on certain holidays and Halloween is definitely one because of the growing size of the market annually as well as the surge in popularity of all things supernatural (vampires, werewolves, witches, zombies, etc.) right now.

Halloween Affiliate Article Marketing

Remember Her Hairpins?

The time to start writing your Halloween articles for the season depends upon a few factors such as where you will be publishing the articles (on a PR1 vs PR 5 site?) and the traffic the site gets, etc. Your backlink juice matters when it comes to timely affiliate article marketing, so if you know you have an uphill battle ahead of you, it’s a good idea to get started with your Halloween affiliate article marketing in the summer — like mid to late June.

Now if you know of a few major sites that you can publish your articles on and get good PR power and traffic numbers from them – then you’re golden and can write as late as the first week of October.

People are often shopping for Halloween costumes, accessories, and party supplies up until the very day – so as long as you have some visibility in the market – you will get some hits and hopefully click conversions.

I myself like to write up to the last moment:)

SO – if you haven’t written your Halloween articles yet, you still have time, so get started. Here are a few articles that I have written in the past discussing good Halloween affiliate companies to work with, hot Halloween keyword phrases, and more info to get you going:

April Article Ideas

April Article Ideas & April Article Suggestions

april article ideas

Autism Awareness
This is a great time to write first-person stories about your family’s journey & autism. It’s also always a good idea to write basic autism articles, as there are many people who still aren’t sure what autism is and the wide range of disorders on the autism spectrum.

International Guitar Month
I love the sound of an acoustic guitar! This month is the time to celebrate that wonderful instrument. How-To Play articles, History of Guitar articles, Guitars From Around The World are great topics to cover. This is also a great topic for affiliate marketers.

Keep America Beautiful Month
Hopefully they are celebrating this one in your child’s school, but probably not:) So this is a good opportunity to write articles that give families ideas on how one person at a time can keep our country trash and pollution free.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month
This is a very important topic and one that a lot of mental health professionals, social workers, and people who have experience with this topic can write about.

National Frog Month
I don’t know much about frogs but I’m sure there are a lot of frog fans out there. Affiliate marketers can also capitalize on frog collector items, mementos, etc.

National Garden Month
This is a favorite one of mine! I love gardening and plenty of people are preparing their gardens right now for the summer. You could write literally hundreds of gardening tip articles on annual and perennial flowers as well as vegetables.

National Humor Month
The local and national news is depressing — I rather laugh. This is a great time to write funny pieces, promote your stand-up comedy act, or write comedy movie reviews.

National Parkinson’s Awareness Month
Exposure for this disease is starting to grow since celebrities like Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali have it — but it’s still a pretty wide-open topic to cover on the web. Awareness should be the goal for most articles.

National Volunteer Month
I always think about volunteering and I am always looking for opportunities for my children to get involved. Writing articles on volunteer opportunities (especially locally) would be a great idea. There are also a few books out there on volunteering for affiliate income opportunities.

National Mathematics Education Month
My children always do a math-a-thon fundraiser at school in April and it really does what articles around this time can do — and that’s raise an interest and awareness in mathematics for ourselves and our children.

National Poetry Month
Write a poem. Enter a poem contest. Write about great poets or unsung poets.

Stress Awareness Month
Great opportunity here to write about various stress relieving exercises, activities, tools, etc. You could also write about the effects of stress on mind & body. Stress is a great affiliate article marketing topic. There are digital guides as well as plenty of stress relieving products, books, and music to promote.

Week Long Topics
If you’re going to write a week-only topic for April,  you need to make sure that you’ve written and published several articles at least 2 weeks before the launch week. This ensures that the search engines see them and rank them. You will also include an article or two the week of and link them to the older articles. Week long topics you could write about for April include:

April 1st
April Fool’s Day
One Cent Day

April 2nd
Hans Christian Anderson’s Birthday
International Children’s Book Day

April 3rd
Find-A-Rainbow Day

April 5th
National Read a Road Map Day

April 7th
No Housework Day
World Health Day

February Affiliate Article Marketing

January 18, 2011 By Lisa Angelettie 6 Comments

February Affiliate Article Marketing

Shrink, Track, Share, Control ... Dominate

February is a great month for affiliate article marketing because the relationship, dating, love market has always been hot and will remain to be so as long as people are looking for their soulmates. (awww!!) Trust me when I say that this is a niche that is NEVER going to go stale. The great thing about the human spirit is that collectively, it never gives up hope of love and success.

The only problem that many marketers have with this niche is the saturation factor. Which means that a LOT of people promote in this market. For example, if you do a Google search for “dating” in quotes, you will get a return of about 217 million sites. Yikes!

february affiliate marketing

Yet, don’t let that statistic scare you though. There are plenty of brand new affiliate marketers out there that are making a great supplemental income writing articles in this niche. The key to success is to drill down deep and find great long-tail keywords AND a great product to promote.

Here are a few long-tail keyword rich phrases in the dating niche to get you started. Just download this absolutely free, no opt-in required, ultimate keyword list (PDF) to get going.

Click To Download: Ultimate Keyword List Research: DATING

Word to the wise…use the list! Don’t just download this freebie, glaze over the list, and go to your emails. Uh-uh!

Write a few articles to grab some of the February traffic looking for love and you will be mighty proud of yourself by March. And while you’re at it, think about your own website or blog. Are you reaching the thousands of free search engine traffic in your niche by targeting the right keywords? Now is the time to to a little keyword research and make sure you that you are on target and that your competition isn’t the only one benefiting from free search engine traffic.

Last Thing
If you write an article targeting this niche using one of the keywords in this list, feel free to link to your article in the comment section below. Be quick about it though. I close comments to my articles after a specific amount of time.

Autoblogging 101

November 15, 2010 By Lisa Angelettie 7 Comments

WordPress Autoblogging | Autoblogging 101

There is a new affiliate article marketing (or content marketing) model that is all the rage! If you haven’t heard about it, it is a system of mass producing small niche blogs and monetizing them with adsense, amazon, ebay, and other affiliate revenue. Content is typically “dripped” into the blogs automatically via plugins from RSS feeds and so it is a “set it and forget it” type of income model.

The key to success with autoblogging is that you must pick tiny, untapped niches and that you create a LOT of blogs because each one is only going to generate a very small amount of revenue (a few bucks a day). Yet if you can create many blogs that make a few dollars a day, the point is that it all adds up to a pretty decent amount of money per day.

Autoblogging – Pros

One thing that is absolutely attractive about autoblogging is the fact that you can set it up and forget it. You can simply leave it alone and let the affiliate income drip in.

Another great thing about autoblogging is that when you use it with WordPress, you can use some powerful WordPress plugins to automatically add content to your blog on a regular basis. Content like articles, reviews, and videos. This is what differentiates the autoblogging affiliate model of today from the old adsense html websites of the past. You are constantly adding fresh content to your blogs, which the search engines love, but you’re doing it automatically – -so you are not tied to adding fresh content to dozens of sites everyday.

Autoblogging – Cons

Of course if you are automatically adding content from other website sources to your blogs, you need to find a way to make that content unique. It doesn’t make sense to post duplicate content from bigger sites to your little, new, niche sites. No one will ever find your sites in a search because they will probably suffer from a Google content filter.

Another autoblogging issue is that the key to success is being able to produce a large number of blogs with the least amount of time/effort. And that’s where the autoblogging offers come in. There are companies out there who will sell you the “method” or their “system” for building and implementing autoblogs, but they really make their money by selling you the software needed to create a lot of WordPress blogs, with the same settings, and the same plugins at one time. Some call it batch processing. This cuts down on the time creating and setting up your blogs – tremendously.

How To Use Autoblogging

It’s important to understand that if you choose to create passive income from affiliate article marketing as I do, and so many other online entrepreneurs, that autoblogging is NOT your golden ticket! While I am sure there are many marketers who are going to claim that they make thousands of dollars a month autoblogging – this probably won’t be you. Nor is it most people. But what it is – is a nice source of passive income that you can create with just a little upfront effort. Niche selection, setting up the blogs, etc.

Getting Started With Autoblogging

There are many marketers out there who teach autoblogging, but if you know how to set up a blog on WordPress or on Blogger, then you can get started without any real investment.

1. Select your niche.

2. Make sure you can penetrate by doing solid keyword research

3. Set up your blog on a self-hosted WordPress blog or a Blogger blog.

4. Add a variety of content on your niche. Use automated WordPress plugins to help.

5. Monetize your blog.

6. Sit back and let the magic happen!

Here are a few systems if you want more in-depth direction and access to software to help automate things: Autoblog Samurai & AutoContentCash.

Halloween Affiliate Article Marketing – Pt. 1

October 4, 2010 By Lisa Angelettie 1 Comment

Want To Try Halloween Affiliate Article Marketing?

Look around your neighborhood and your shopping centers. Halloween has become a bigger holiday then I ever imagined it would be. It’s getting up there with Christmas. There are even lighted trees to display in your home for Halloween. Black ones with orange lights! There is so much merchandise being sold for Halloween that it is an absolute no brainer that affiliate marketers make thousands of dollars promoting products around this holiday. That’s right – big bucks. Especially for the beginning affiliate marketer. This is a really cool and easy niche to start with.

Just by browsing the stores I saw lighted jack-o-laterns, hot air outside displays, lighted trees, Halloween gift cards, assorted candy, wreaths, door decorations, lawn decorations, cd’s, books for adults, books for children, costumes, wigs, party favors, Halloween balloons, Halloween themed paper goods, Halloween decorated cookie dough and other baked goods, etc. Most of these things you can buy in stores and you can buy on the web.

Buying Halloween items on the web has grown in popularity over the years, probably because of the convenience and the fact that stores can be “picked over” when it comes to this holiday – because people have a LOT of Halloween parties. In fact let’s take a quick look…

Halloween affiliate article marketing

There are over 11 million monthly global searches for the term halloween.

That is a lot of traffic on the web for one little ole’ holiday and that’s primarily due to the fact that people are on a deadline to purchase a costume and plan a party for themselves or for their children –And that’s why you should be one of the source’s for all this traffic. It is a high-traffic, well-converting, affiliate market.

Now while there may be a few super affiliates out there who will tell you that they have this market covered from A to Z, I assure you that there is space for you to get in. You just have to drill down and pick a sub-niche. Here’s what you need to do.

1. Pick A sub-niche in the online Halloween marketplace.

2. Pick an affiliate program with products to promote in this sub-niche. I like Commission Junction or a Halloween-only product website.

3. Write a series of key-word rich articles on this sub-niche, making sure you link to your affiliate product(s) in the articles — and get the published like yesterday!

4. Try to weave the articles in a series by using links — this will help keep people reading your content. When exposed to it long enough, people will generally purchase something.

Take a look a highly searched and well-trafficked sub-niche keywords in part 2 of this Halloween affiliate article marketing series.

Internet Business: More Top 10 Hottest Online Niches (Pt.2)

July 29, 2010 By Lisa Angelettie 1 Comment

Ready to finally get your internet business up and running? Still trying to work out a niche? No worries. Welcome to the second part of the Top 10 Hottest Niches online right now! In case you need to catch up – read about the first five hot niches here. If you’re all caught up, let’s get right to it and talk about the next five hot marketplaces on the web today.

Remember that the web is growing everyday! If you even get the slightest inspiration for a internet business from this article, it probably would be best to snatch up a keyword rich domain name for it now. The .com names are really important to secure because they can bring you the greatest success in the search engine rankings. If you aren’t at that point yet, it’s fine. I’m sure that these additional five niches will give you some inspiration.

6. Legitimate Online Jobs
It’s no surprise that because there are so many out of work these days that there is a high demand for creating other sources of income. Unfortunately even as the job market increases there will still be a residual effect of all the businesses that failed and the people who, as a result, lost their jobs. That’s why search for legitimate online jobs and home-based jobs is a growing marketing. You can capitalize on this growth if you act fast.

*Bonus Niche
Cover Letter & Resume Guides
In keeping with this theme, there has been a dramatic increase in demand for cover letter and resume writing services, software, etc. You could set up a blog on resume building and link to various services and products. Or you could create a service yourself. Again – I don’t see this niche slowing down for a long while.

7. Game Guides
I’m completely clueless when it comes to this niche, but I do know that it has been and continues to be a rapidly growing niche that gets a LOT of traffic from people who are qualified and buy. If you can create a guide for one of the popular games out there such as the Zygor Alliance & Horde World of Warcraft Leveling & Dailies Guides or Dugi’s World Of Warcraft Leveling / Dungeon / Dailies Guide then you can make big bucks online! Just find where you fit in.

8. Green Products
Living green is not a Hollywood fad any longer. It is part of the social consciousness. You know it is when major companies are marketing green products – like Clorox®. I created a squidoo lens on green cleaning products a few years back just because I was into it and wanted to make a few affiliate bucks off of it. But imagine what you can do now? There are tons of great “green” products out there to promote — and there are many other products yet to be developed. Possibly by you? One of the hottest sub niches in this market right now is alternative energy sources. Imagine no more electric bills? Heck yeah!

9. Health & Fitness
You betcha that health and fitness is still one of the hottest niches on the web. Think about it. You must know at least one person changing their eating habits this month, one person on a diet, one who hates their body, one who just lost weight, etc. I could go on and on. We are obsessed with our fitness. We all want to look good. So the key to getting into this highly competitive niche, is to absolutely drill it down and find a good sub niche that you can rank in. Focus on one particular thing. Like one of the hottest sub niches in this market is focusing on fit abs.

*Bonus Niche – Sports buffs are online. I don’t know why, but they are. They do a lot of research on how they can improve whatever it is that they do. Football, soccer, golf. One of the hotter sub niches in this marketplace is something called vertical training. People are willing to pay big bucks to learn how to vertically train better so that they are better at their sport of choice.

10. Learning Languages
Sure you see all those commercials on television about that software that teaches people in NASA how to speak a foreign language – but did you know that software costs hundreds of dollars? It is way out of the average consumer’s budget. Yet learning a language is on the “to do” or “bucket list” of many more people than you realize. The search statistics don’t lie. Folks want to learn a second language for self-improvement, better job opportunities, etc. Listed in popularity order, the hot languages in this niche include: Spanish, French, Chinese, German, Japanese .

Internet Business Tip: Find someone who is already selling a product or service in the niche that you are interested in. Consider purchasing that item as an investment into your niche research. Study it. See what you can do to make the product or service better, faster, simpler, or more attractive to the consumer.
